User Interface Notifications

The User Interface (UI) Notifications feature provides a centralized way to view and manage notifications in the Oracle® Intelligent Communications Orchestration Network cloud service, enabling users to view past events and updates.

A Notification Bell icon is available in the top-right corner of the UI. It displays the total number of active notifications, where active notifications are those that have not been dismissed or cleared. The notification list is automatically refreshed every 5 seconds. Newly generated notifications are also added to the notification screen.

Notification Scope and Visibility

  • Notifications are associated to an account, not a specific user.
  • Users can view all active notifications for the selected account.
  • When a notification is dismissed or cleared, it is removed from the account, for all users.

Retention Policy

  • Notifications are retained for up to six months unless they are dismissed earlier.
  • Dismissed notifications cannot be recovered.

UI Notification Management

The Oracle® Intelligent Communications Orchestration Network cloud service provides several actions for managing the notifications.

View Notifications

You can view the notification list by clicking on the Notification Bell in the top navigation bar.

Clicking the bell opens a notification screen that:
  • Displays notifications as individual cards
  • Lists notifications in descending order of recency
  • Includes for each notification:
    • Status - Indicates the outcome of the notification.
      • Valid(marked by a green check icon) indicating a successful operation or expected state.
      • Invalid(marked with red cross icon) indicating an error, failure, or unexpected condition.
    • Short description
    • Timestamp (based on the user’s local browser time)
When there are no active notifications, the following behavior is observed:
  • The notification screen displays an empty state indicating that there are no notifications to display.
  • The notification bell no longer displays a count, as there are no active notifications.

Open a Notification

Click a notification card to navigate to the corresponding object or screen.

Dismiss a Notification

Only users with the Admin role can dismiss notifications.

Procedure
  1. Click the Dismiss button in the notification list to dismiss an individual notification.

    Or

    Click Clear All Notifications to dismiss all notifications and confirm the action.

    When a notification is dismissed, it is removed from the notification list and can no longer be accessed.
